Origin[]
Idina Menzel is an actress and musician recognized for her powerful mezzo-soprano voice and signature belting technique. She debuted on Broadway in the musical Rent and later became a sensation in The Wizard of Oz retelling Wicked, earning a 2004 Tony award for best actress. She has since then appeared in countless theatre, television and film roles. Her most iconic outside of Broadway is Princess Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, with the hit “Let It Go” written specifically to her vocal strengths.
Wicked[]
Menzel played Elphaba Thropp, the green witch drawn insane at the side of her friend Glinda. The Wizard and his underlings manipulated Elphaba to use her innate sorcery talents to imprison animal citizens of the kingdom and spy upon the rest. The three companions to Dorothy were all mishandled attempts to save others from the Wizard’s clutches. When she refused, the Wizard branded her “wicked” and the whole land followed suit, including her best friend Glinda. Her slow descent into villainy is one she accepts to oppose the cruelties of Oz, finally escaping to start her life again.
Effects[]
Riding while speaking, especially singing about one’s hopes, allows the user to conjure anything they despise. Every change creates something the wielder has an inherent problem with existing. Whether it violates one’s beliefs or reminds them of something they hate, it will always irk the wielder. It can even pull a person from thousands of miles away or inundate them with a haunting of said deceased shmuck. Arguments to fullblown combat scenarios should be expected.
Leaches nutrients from the skin and muscular walls, causing them to pigment into a sickly green shade. This malnutrition connects back to the brain and causes intense feelings of disinterest towards one’s life, or incessant fervor for change on the brink of control.
