Icarus is the son of Daedalus, creator of the labyrinth to contain the minotaur. King Minos contracted Daedalus to construct the prison, but was later imprisoned in a nearby tower after completion. He constructed two sets of archaic wings from feathers and wax to fly back to mainland Athens.
The operating conditions were fly too low and the ocean spray will saturate the feathers, fly too high and solar heat will melt away the wax. But Icarus was enjoying the newfound freedom too greatly. After soaring to new heights, he cannonballed to murky depths. His name is now associated with the brash, think-later, IDGAF attitude of youth and the risk of pursuing more glory than necessary.
Effects[]
Must be removed to activate, as it will remain inert when the subject is shackled. The user can create a column of rotating air to lift them straight upwards. After reaching desired height they can angle it to move them forwards to their destination. Many cities will be panoramas from high above as they navigate the natural wind currents.
Reinforces any pleasurable, beneficial or even neutral behavior. Good in some cases developing habits such as cautionary approach or a steady sleep schedule. But it often exaggerates a common trait of the time for worse, turning them into a set of tics and cravings similar to a junkie.

“The aerial escapades of this chain are well documented by previous Warehouse agents, who adored its use to infiltrate fortifications overhead. What they all downplay is the negative behavior reinforcement in every case. Like the youngling Icarus was wondrously enjoying the freedom of flight rather than analyzing his present state, he instead continued onwards in the face of obvious peril.
Now anyone who uses it becomes overflooded with dopamine in the brain’s reward system. Low usage can cause them to repeat actions similar to a Tourette’s or OCD sufferer without control. Moderate exposure causes hypomania that provides euphoria at the cost of mental composure and impulse control, even leading to addiction seeking thrills for greater pleasure.”
