Biography[]
Hamed bin Muhammed (bin Juma bin Rajab) al-Murjebi (1832 - 1904) was an Arab-Zanzibari slave and ivory trader, explorer, plantation owner and governor. Hamed, also known more commonly as Tippu Tip grew up poor. At a surprisingly young age Tippu led a group of one hundred men into Central Africa seeking slaves and ivory. After plundering large swathes of land he returned home to Zanzibar to consolidate his resources and grow his private army. It appeared that early on, in order to command that many people Tippu discovered and used several artifacts. Slaves that he traded were stronger than others at first, after a week they showed signs of exhaustion no matter what type of work they were forced to do and died within a month.
During the Congo-Arac War Tippu and his son attacked Belgian ivory traders and although they were outnumbered they managed to turn an African warlord to their side ending the war. Upon raiding his home and discovering several artifacts, agents brought him in to be bronzed, spreading the word that he had died of malaria instead.
Reason For Bronzing[]
Using an artifact to eventually kill people. False Hope.
