Origin[]
Long associated with Hades (or Pluto), the two-forked bident is the weapon of choice for the ruler of the underworld and all things subterranean. It balances itself against Poseidon’s three prong trident, with aspects controlling earthquakes, and Zeus’ Bolt, a singular spike to channel electrical discharge.
Effects[]
As a counter to the more destructive forces of its brother artifacts, the bident always tries to minimize chaos. Induces stability in the surrounding area as an act of preservation. Stops all nearby motion, pausing everything within reach while one has free reign. Some movement is possible but all at subdued speed, almost like slow-motion.
Unfortunately, this slowness drains any energy to maintain its ability. Wind ceases, sounds dampen and light itself fades. For living beings, it slowly siphons off energy from them until they wither away, drained off all mass. All the while everything surrounding them ceases and just drifts in a dark void.
Collection[]
The first wearer has been identified by Warehouse 3 to be the original Hades-High Warden of the Greek Underworld. Along with the helm, these instruments were used to keep the realm under greater control of the High Warden in times of crisis. They were passed down between generations of successive Hades and Persephones. As a thanks for helping stave off some rebelling Olympians, the tools were gifted to the current Warehouse. Their caretaker knew these allies were trustworthy protectors, and she shut the gates to Hades to maintain peaceful isolation.
