Origin[]
Marie-Georges-Jean Melies (1861 - 1938) was a French illusionist and film director who led many technical and narrative developments in the earliest days of cinema. Melies was an especially prolific innovator in the use of special effects. Inventing such techniques as substitution splices, multiple exposures, time-lapse photograph, dissolves and hand-painted color. He was also one of the first filmmakers to use storyboards.
His Pantomime came in the form of a mechanical fairy stored in a glass cylinder display case where it sat perched on a small branch. When opened the fairy would come alive, as alive as a mechanical creation could, and flitter about. The fairy creates a dazzling effect that can cause a group of people to be entranced until the fairy is put away. The fairy tends to have a mind of her own often flying off and causing mischief.
Effects[]
When artifact dances can entrance several people into a hypnotic state.
Collection[]
It has formed a bond with Jennifer Lockhart and will also return to the cylinder if she calls the fairy.
