Frida Kahlo de Rivera (born Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calderón; July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954) was a Mexican painter who is best known for her self-portraits.

The necklace was given to Kahlo by a fan later in life. The necklace, which is made of dried thorny vines, attracts birds when worn. The birds won't attack the user, but can become a nuisance over time.
