Origin[]

Franz Ferdinand (December 18, 1863-June 28, 1914) was an Archduke of Austria-Este, Austro-Hungarian and Royal Prince of Hungary and of Bohemia, and from 1896 until his death, heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne.

His assassination in Sarajevo precipitated Austria-Hungary's declaration of war against Serbia. This caused the Central Powers (including Germany and Austria-Hungary) and Serbia's allies to declare war on each other, starting World War I.

Description[]

The jacket, ordained with various military medals, is not in pristine condition, ripped by bullet holes and marked by blood stains.

Effect[]

This was the jacket that Archduke Franz Ferdinand wore when he was killed. It was collected by Warehouse 12 Agents just after his death, as one of their last artifacts. When worn, the wearer will be struck several times in the chest by phantom bullets. No bullet shells are ever found, and the injuries are always fatal.
