Origin[]

The Subatomic Reconstructive Transporter or S.R.T. was the first project Henry Deacon began working on when Nathan Stark recruited him into Eureka. It was able to transport primates successfully, but the Stockholm Treaty later banned all teleportation research and so the program never the human trials phase. The prototype was shelved but installed in the GD head office as a last resort escape unit. In the event of a lockdown, infiltration or contaminant leak, the director’s office would slide miles below the foundation where the director would remain in isolation until the crisis was resolved.

Effects[]

Teleportation to a set destination point within a maximum one kilometer from the origin; any farther and it might incite complications. Requires the DNA profile of the subject to properly recognize the individual. It breaks down their original body in a flash of light and leaves a layer of crystal-like dust like a shed snakeskin. Their new form is rebuilt with the genetic markers at the destination, which does not require matching machinery. As an unintentional side effect, it also filters out foreign elements and results in the passenger becoming healthier once materialized.

As per the Stockholm Treaty the machine was fully dismantled and the parts shipped to the Warehouse, where it remains in sealed containment.

Appearances[]

It appears in the Season 2 episode “A Night At Global Dynamics“. The device was considered defunct until some of the equations from the Alchemist's Curse provided guidance. Henry and Beverly triggered a false biothreat warning to evacuate the building and force the bunker with the SRT to be sealed away from the rest of GD. A hoax about the metal mutating virus consuming flesh forced the building into defense mode to slow down Carter and Stark from reaching the chamber. The alert also reached General Mansfield to a biohazard breach requiring burning all organic matter with a thermal cleaning.

As Kevin experienced physical mutations within his brain structure, his genetic record changed. It required the original and current samples of his genetic material to successfully filter out the Artifact’s connection to the Akashic field without being fatal. Since it reverted him to his original genetic state, his autism returned later on as the changes stabilized. Beverley later used the SRT to flee any potential imprisonment in Eureka to a stocked bunker near the border.
