Ezio Auditore de Firenze was an ancestor of Desmond Miles, a bartender turned assassin member in 2007. His journey began when he witnessed the execution of his father and brothers at the hands of Templar conspirators. After killing the man responsible for their deaths, Ezio begins a journey to avenge his family and free Italy from Templar control. While rebuilding the ancient Assassin Order, Ezio manages to free Italy, Spain and the Ottoman Empire from Templar control. Later in life he began his search for Altair's (Another ancestor of Desmond Miles) library in Masyaf and helps restore the Ottoman Assassin Order. Through the library Ezio discovers a powerful artifact called the Apple of Eden. Instead of falling to the power of the artifact and wiping out all the Templars, thus becoming as evil as they are, Ezio hit it like Altair and retired from the Assassin Order.
