OriginEdit

An opportunity seeker, Ephialtes thought he could get some commission or recognition from the advancing Persian army. See, the Spartans lead by Leonidas were blockading a narrow pass that led towards the city-state. However, Ephialtes informed Xerxes of a local pathway that looped around the mountains and right behind the Greek contingent. The Spartans and their fellow Thebans were all killed, but the remaining soldiers escaped before the battle to warn Sparta. After the disastrous Battle of Salamis, Ephialtes fled and was later killed for a completely unrelated reason.

EffectsEdit

Imparts the desire to achieve fame and riches beyond their means. Usually, it involves the violation of their ancestral or cultural values for a quick profit. Selling information to traditional enemies seems to be a common method, although its not above theft, assault and coercion. Rubbing the stone repeatedly strengthens the bond, allaying any doubts they might possess for their greater ascendance.
