Origin[edit | edit source]

Frozen is a 2013 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy-comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 53rd animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen, the film tells the story of a fearless princess who sets off on an epic journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal pet reindeer, and a hapless snowman to find her sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

In the movie, the main deuteragonist, Elsa, wore these gloves to prevent her powers over ice and snow from being used accidentally.

Effects[edit | edit source]

Separately, the Gloves and Cloak both have the ability to give the user control over ice and snow. The Cloak's powers are more general, affecting the area around the user, while the Gloves are capable of creating intricate objects. When they are worn by the same person, they give the wearer complete control for a short time.

However, the user becomes fearful of the powers after about twenty-four hours. It begins as a "nagging" feeling of fear, one the user can easily push aside. As the feeling grows stronger, the user begins to lose control of their powers, becoming unable to make intricate objects after four days and the range of the general powers becoming increasingly difficult to control. If left unchecked for one week, the area will become an area of permanent winter with exceedingly cold temperatures, and the user will become an ice statue which cannot recover. Even when worn separately, the downsides can still happen, and only when both artifacts are neutralized can the effects be halted, as long as it is before the permanent winter.

The precise range of the area that could be affected is unclear. However, it has been hypothesized that the area could be as large as Texas.

Collection[edit | edit source]

The Gloves and Cloak were some of the many "convention" artifacts collected during the final battle with the Sailor Moon Fans. They were used by two separate people during the battle who had had the artifacts on for five days, which had caused snow in the city of Denver at the time. Agents Taylor and Wilcoxson managed to neutralize the artifacts prior to a worsening of the weather, and it was treated as an "unusual weather phenomenon" by the media.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This artifact seems to have a calming effect on Jack Frost's Staff, despite their lack of physical or origin connections. It is unclear why, but it is stored in the Aisle of Noel to keep the artifacts calm.
