Origin[edit | edit source]
Eli Robins (1921 – 1994) was an American psychiatrist who played a pivotal role in establishing the way mental disorders are researched and diagnosed today. His career began in 1949 when he moved to St. Louis and began publishing articles on conditions such as suicide, hysteria, depression, regret and guilt to name a few. Forming a close rapport with Samuel Guze and George Winokur, they developed criteria sets for the medical model of psychiatric disorders. This led to creating the Research Diagnostic Criteria which ultimately shaped the influential third edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-3) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
Effects[edit | edit source]
Using for ill-intent will alert their potential victim in the form of a stranger. The stranger appears as a forty year old man with blue eyes and sandy blond hair wearing a brown trench coat and hat. Would-be victims admit that at first they were scared but something about the man's features were compassionate.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
Inspiration for the episode Fair Warning in the 2003 Twilight Zone reboot.
