Origin[]
Edwin Abbot Abbot was a schoolteacher who penned the novella "Flatland". In it, he uses sentient shapes to explore and explain the nature behind two and three dimensional space.
Effects[]
Turns whatever it is measured against flat or extends it into the third dimension. Can very rarely leave things in a dimension between the second and third. Flattened creatures will be unable to perceive the third dimension but can imagine it, while journeys beyond the fourth dimension can lead to odd visions. Multiple trips can lead to the user becoming disoriented or insane from loss of an established understanding of space.
