Origin[]
Edward O. Thorp (1932 -) is an American mathematics professor, author and blackjack player best known for creating the first wearable computer, worn on wrist like a watch, in 1961. He was a pioneer in modern application of probability theory which he would put into effect when it came to playing cards. In 1962 he wrote a book to prove mathematically how the house advantage in blackjack could be overcome by card counting. Thorp, along with his friend and fellow professional gambler Manny Kimmel, visited Reno and Lake Tahoe casinos where they tested Throp's theories, which proved sound as they won at least eleven thousand dollars in a single weekend. It would have been a lot more if his winning didn't draw the attention of casino security. That didn't stop him as taking his lucky casino chip and disguising himself he and his team hit up Las Vegas going from blackjack to even baccarat. Eventually the casinos made it harder and harder for Thorp to win, going as far as making his personal computer watch illegal to be worn at the tables.
Effects[]
When held whatever room the holder is in becomes inescapable. The chip convinces the possessor that putting it down would cause some sort of pain making it impossible to leave the enclosed space. Being trapped for so long could drive possessor to insanity.
