OriginEdit

Earle Nelson (1897 - 1928) was an American serial killer known as the Dark Strangler or the Gorilla Man. Nelson's victims were mostly landladies, who he would approach on the pretext of renting a room. Before approaching them he would make sure they saw him diligently studying from his worn Bible keeping his victims at ease. Once he had their trust he would have them show him a room where he could proceed to kill them, mostly by strangulation. His nickname came from his immense strength as he didn't have the need to use anything but his hands to kill.
