Origin[]

The sword of Rhydderch Hael, also known as Dyrnwyn or white-hilt, is a legendary sword and one of the "Thirteen Treasures of the Island of Britain". Although it is unclear whether or not Rhydderch was a real historical figure, with some sources depicting him in a couple different eras, the Welch Triads feature him in several stories, where he is stated to be one of the owners of the thirteen treasures: "If a well-born man drew it himself, it burst into flame from its hilt to its tip. And everyone who used to ask for it would receive; but because of this peculiarity everyone used to reject it. And therefore he was called Rhydderch the Generous."

Effects[]

When drawn by someone worthy, it blazes with fire that will aid the wielder in fights. Anyone whose intentions are impure or malicious will have the fire turn against them in a fight, causing severe burns and death. The sword burns lightly when left alone or when not in use, but will not burn for 72 hours if soaked in water.

Collection[]

On September 4, 2017, a young girl swimming in Dozmary Pool discovered a four-foot-long sword at the bottom. Bringing it up, it was originally suspected to be a prop from a movie. However, several days after being removed from the water, the sword caught on fire, catching the family off guard. The Warehouse received a ping, and Agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering were sent to retrieve the sword.

Storage and Handling[]

The artifact is currently stored in Area 12-B of the Ovoid Quarantine.
