Origins[]
Henry Heimlich is a physician credited with the invention of abdominal thrusts, a way to get whatever the person was choking on out of their body. It is today most commonly referred to as the Heimlich maneuver. It has changed guidelines several times and gained suspicion if Heimlich really was the one who came up with the idea.
Heimlich also created a valve to allow air and blood to drain from a collapsed lung. He was also enthusiastic about purposely infecting people with malaria so he could treat other diseases with it.
Effects[]
The neck brace prevents choking by dissolving the object choking the person in an unknown solvent. Through unknown means, it instead inflicts the experience on someone else nearby, even if it’s their savior. However, if a person uses the artifact on themselves with nobody else around, they will be locked in a cycle of choking and not choking. The foreign body will keep dissolving and re-materializing in their body until the artifact is neutralized.
