Desiderius Erasmus was a Dutch scholar, humanist and priest who is most known for his advocacy of ‘free will’. He expressed his wish for all man to live on equal terms and generally ‘get along with one another’.
It was used by Henry Kissinger to help avert war between the United States and the Soviet Union during the 1970s.
