OriginEdit

Many origins are attributed to Davy Jones. Some say a spirt David Jones travels the northern seas bringing mischief. Others recount how a Sailor Duffer Jones fell overboard into the unforgiving waters. Another yarn spun combines hostile ‘’duppy’’ ghouls of the Caribbean with the sailor’s curse Jonah into a singular figure. Tobias Smollett's The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle describe sea-dweller as horned, three rows of teeth and breathing blue smoke. Whatever the truth, all mariners recognize Davy Jones’ locker as the final resting place for sunken vessels and her crews.

EffectsEdit

Always soaking from holding back a veritable flood behind its bounds. Opening the latch releases a gushing torrent of water. Most times the clarity is poor, mixed in with silt and other marine conglomerate including wrecked driftwood and plastic pollutants. The released flotsam is enough to jam any watercraft, leaving them entangled in harsh currents or drowned in the muck.
