Origin[]
Darius I (550 - 486) also known as Darius the great was the third King of the Persian Acheaemenid Empire. The staff was given to him by the court's counselor after Darius kill the legitimate heir to the throne who was trying to revolt the people against his father. By killing the heir he took the throne by force. After securing his authority over the entire empire he pressed on to Egypt defeating the armies of the Pharaoh. Throughout all the campaigns it was his strategic prowess and huge personality that got his people to fight on and win. The First Persian invasion of Greece was the first time in his military life that Darius felt the foes pushing back. His main force was fatigued and he needed to step forward and prove that he was their king and worth sacrificing their lives for. Standing on a cliff overlooking both armies Darius lifted the staff up as a flash of light emitted from it.
Effects[]
Lifting into the air and focusing your anger into it causes the yellow jewel in the center to flash. A few tries show that normal anger, Agent Nielson upset at Agent Lattimer, leaves the victim blind for a few minutes with black spots floating in his eyesight for a bit longer. Intense anger could lead to blindness.
Trivia[]
Darius I died after the Persian invasion of Greece, so the second wave was lead by his son Xerxes, which is what the movie 300 is based on.
