Origin[edit | edit source]

This artifact belonged to a pianist whose identity was lost during the collection and storage of this artifact. How this piano gained its effects also remains unclear.

Effects[edit | edit source]

Whoever plays this piano will be granted with great musical talent; someone who has never laid eyes on a sheet of music will be able to read and write like an expert composer. However, whoever hears a full song played in the piano will eventually bleed from their heart.

It can occassionally be heard playing slow, melancholy renditions of love songs and eery original compositions when left alone.

Collection[edit | edit source]

This piano was collected after reports emerged of several near-simultaneous deaths in a small town. When an agent was dispatched, they discovered the victims were all patrons of a local show starring a newfound piano player. Upon investigation, they found the man and questioned him as to the piano's powers, where he explained that he did not intend to cause harm, and instead had been playing to gain the attention of a woman. The pianist then told agent that he had "signed a contract to sell his soul to the devil" to gain his musical talent, and had "neglected to read the fine print". The piano was promptly collected, but afterwards the man was never seen again, and all records of him had disappeared from his residence.

At the Warehouse, when the collecting agent was attempting to store it, they had originally had it stored in the Tragedy Annex, near the Aluminum Blunther. Unfortunately, the Blunther was activated, and the agent, along with the storage labels and living recollection of the owner, were destroyed. Due to the mysterious identity of the owner, and the uncertain authenticity of the man's claims, the piano was then stored in the Urban Legend Sector.

Storage[edit | edit source]

The piano's lid is to be kept closed, and the keys regularly polished carefully so as to avoid playing any notes. While only full songs cause the ill effects, some agents have reported being enticed by how well they idly play random keys and wish to play more.
