Inventing Monopoly based around another game called the Landlord's Game by Elizabeth Magie except he tweaked the experience making it into the popular set up today. The creation was a family affair as his wife and son helped with the final set up of the game board. By 1935 even though there were other types of games that Monopoly resembled Darrow was able to acquire the sole patent of the game then selling it to Milton Bradley and later to Parker Brothers.
