These artifacts recreate a segment of the original creation event, causing the current owner to be subjected to the exact same conditions as the original owner. Others imbue the wielder with either the skillset or personality of the creator. This actually makes these artifacts easier to neutralize compared to more abstract ones, as they have literal effects that are readily known and treatable.
