Removal of the fourth wall between an observer and a piece of media. Allows one to enter the setting or releases existing elements into the actual world. The dictating rules between each may differ significantly enough to cause compatibility issues. One may exert physical laws that are alien to the new environment and wreak havoc.
Some allow for movement of a normally static or inert subject as if they were an independent being. Heavily affects pieces of media significance such as recordings and stories. Most become inactive if the subjects are returned to their appropriate mediums. There is a high risk of being stranded in a story without recourse when the gateway is closed.
