Upon discovering his wife, his high school sweetheart, in bed with his best friend, Joseph Packard committed a double murder-suicide. His heart remained intact and functional, so the EMT on scene packed it for transplant.
Effects[]
Whoever receives the heart will kill themselves within two weeks of recovering. The heart remains in perfect condition, which tricks the next medical professional to attempt to implant it again.
Collection[]
Lucas Miller was a brilliant surgeon who had ten successful open heart surgeries under his belt along with three failed ones. The main issue that caused his depression and led Warehouse Agents to him was that he was currently in possession of a human heart. The heart, originally belonging to Joseph Packard, was somehow still functioning as it remained inside of a tank of water the size of a diver’s helmet.
The heart was needed for a young man who had been in a car accident. Miller worked on the man and the transplant was a success, however within a week the young man killed himself as well. Each time Miller received the heart for a transplant he knew it was still Packard’s heart. After the third death of the patient who had the heart, Miller stole it from the hospital and kept it in his home. At night he mourned the loss of his love in his dreams, almost driving himself to destroy the heart but finding that he just couldn’t do it. Luckily Warehouse agents were able to locate and retrieve the heart from Miller. His memories about the heart were erased using Lawrence Joseph Bader's Eyepatch and he went back to living a normal life.
