Origins[]
Collected from the home of Deidre Collingford, and elderly resident of the tiny town of Maryland, Maine. The Warehouse did not become aware of the artifact until after her passing, when her possessions were inherited by estranged family. Sudden anomalous weather began appearing in the area, and further research by Warehouse staff discovered that not only was extreme weather rare in Maryland, it had been totally unheard of in the last decade.
Interviews with the family revealed the estrangement was due to Mrs. Collingford's unusual behavior, in that she spent much of her free time conversing with the lawn ornaments as she gardened. She had claimed on several occasions that her lawn flamingo "Mr. Featherstone" always made it sunny when they needed sun and rainy when they needed rain.
Following this, Agent Giselle Dorian retrieved the flamingo from the local dump, nearly succumbing to hypothermia due to the violent hurricane that had formed over the town. The flamingo was successfully retrieved, although Dorian would disappear en route to the Warehouse. Her remains and the artifact would be recovered by agents Lattimer and Bering in 2014 from Jhamil Haddir's Ashtray.
Effects[]
The artifact has some degree of control over the weather, and that is as much as the Warehouse can confidently say. The means to activate it, manipulate it or control it appear to have been lost with Mrs. Collingford. It is known that, if somehow activated correctly, it provides mild weather. When mishandled it becomes violent and unpredictable. For safety reasons it is stored in the Dark Vault.
