Origin[]
The Axeman of New Orleans was a serial killer in New Orleans active from 1918 to 1919 who would enter homes and kill with an axe, usually one belonging to the victims. One theory that suggests his motivation was the promotion of jazz music, where a letter attributed to him said he would spare the lives of those playing jazz music.
Effects[]
Like it's demented owner, this artifact is a fan of jazz and will protect any dwelling as long as it can relax to some sax. Woe betide anyone who tries to play a different tune, they may find themselves visited by an irate specter in the night.
