Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (2009)[]

When Capcom wanted to release a new Ace Attorney game, the team felt that Phoenix Wright's character plot had ran it's course, so they set their sights on a new character: Apollo Justice.  To replace the traditional Magatema/Psyche-locks mechanics that Wright had, Apollo had a bracelet which, during a testimony, the player could become hyper-focused on the witness, and when the witness would show a nervous tick, the player could point that out and pry into whatever they were talking about.

Apollo was well-received, so he was brought back for 'Dual Destiny' and is seen as one of the main-stays of the series.

Denver, CO: Today[]

When news of a local lawyer started to hit the media stream, the Warehouse got a ping and the duo of Claudia and Steve were sent to investigate.  Once there, they dug deeper finding out two interesting things: first, in each case the jury had no say in how the case was decided.  Whether or not the defendant was guilty or not was decided by the judge himself.  Secondly, the 'lawyer' wasn't registered with the BAR or even had a law degree.  He was flying by the seat of his pants the entire time.

The investigations took a turn when Steve was arrested for a murder that he didn't commit.  Of course, like clockwork, the 'lawyer' was on the scene to act in his defense.  When Claudia reported this back to the Warehouse, Tyler volunteered to fly out there to help Claudia finish the case, saying he had a feeling this was game-related.

When sitting in the gallery, Tyler's suspicions were right.  The lawyer was wearing Apollo Justice's Bracelet which allowed him to pick out the nervous habits of those on stand.  When the lawyer started to get close to prying at the Warehouse, Tyler was forced to make a scene and have him ejected from the courtroom.  Needless to say he earned a stern talking to from Artie when he arrived home.

After proving that Steve was not guilty and that the criminal was in fact one of the witnesses, the two were forced to remove the bracelet and convince him that he should leave the law to the professionals.
