Origin[]
The Oscar Mayer Company is an American meat and cold cut production company, owned by Kraft Heinz. It is known for its hot dogs, bologna, bacon, ham and Lunchables products but originally started as a Midwest sausage selling vendor owned by German immigrant Oscar Mayer.
Oscar Mayer had several advertisements on TV involving young children. A 1974 TV commercial featured four-year-old Andy Lambros holding a fishing rod and sandwich while singing, "My bologna has a first name, it's 'O-S-C-A-R'...".
Effects[]
This kiddie fishing pole does exactly what you'd think it does when held, giving the user a childlike innocence and joviality as they are affected. The pole has a benign side effect though: the user will feel the need to name and then subsequently spell out any bologna they come across.
