OriginEdit

André Devigny was a member of the French resistance during World War Two. In 1943, he was arrested and sent to Montluc prison, where the cruel Klaus Barbie tortured him. He made many attempts at escaping and finally succeeded on August 25. He was able to remove his handcuffs with a safety pin and ground his spoon down sharp enough to remove the wooden slats beneath his cell. He used this opening to talk to other prisoners at night and plan his escape. Devigny and his cellmate escaped through a skylight and grappled down the courtyard out to freedom.

EffectsEdit

The spoon’s head has long since been broken off and ground to a find point. It will widen any crack or hole several times its original size. Repeated uses can create an opening large enough for a person to easily move through.
