OriginEdit

Alyattes, king of Lydia (619-550 BC) was considered to be the founder of the Lydian empire. For several years into his rule Alyattes continued a war against Miletus begun by his father however he started to really see the damage the war was doing on the land herself. Asking for a sign from his god it was during the Battle of Halys where he fought against Cyaxares, king of Media, a solar eclipse took place. Believing this was the sign he asked for Alyattes declared a peace treaty with Cyaxares. Over time Alyattes standardized the weight of coins, using an anvil die technique and stamped with the Lion's head, the symbol of the Mermnade. Eventually there was other forges who attempted to make their own type of coin however Alyattes would send his men to shut them down declaring only the king's coins the right ones.

EffectsEdit

Turns all money they are around into Lydian coins. This devalues other money as Lydian coins are the first in history. Valuable as collector's items however could turn millions into these coins.

CollectionEdit

As long as they are contained in the pouch they won't work. Nothing special about the pouch and any cloth pouch works as well. Warehouse 13 currently has all twenty coins.
