Origin[]
During the filming of the twenty second episode of the first season of The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling was watching as the director cued the power to go out. Sitting next to the master switch to shut off the power was the alien prop box, which was zapped when the breaker shorted. The next day however the power was only active for a few hours during the day. Serling discovered that one of the actors playing the aliens was switching the switch on the device back and forth without realizing it during his performance. After filming was finished Serling took the device from the rest of the props and had it delivered to the Warehouse.
Effects[]
Shuts off electricity for an area the size of a small neighborhood (20 square mile area) that it is pointed at. Area remains affected until the button on the device is pressed again.
Some become highly paranoid a threat is watching in the distance. Or their friends were actually plants to control the ruse. Attacks can escalate if just a single person begins lashing out, cascading into riot scenarios.
