OriginEdit

Alfred Griner Packer (1842 - 1907) was an American prospector who confessed to cannibalism during the winter of 1874. When he was traveling through the mountains of Colorado during the peak of a harsh winter with five other men. They were looking to mine a bit of ore, anything would do as they were the scouts to see if there was anything good out in the mountains. When he returned to base camp, alone, he claimed that the others had killed each other for food. Even at that point he confessed that since there was no food he was forced to eating the flesh of his companions to survive. Within the next nine years federal agents found the bodies of his companions and determined that Packer was the one who killed them to eat and arrested him for five counts of murder.

EffectsEdit
