Origin[]
Alexander of Abonoteichus was a Greek mystic and oracle who founded the briefly widespread cult of Glycon in ancient Rome. However, contemporary writer Lucian claimed Alexander was an utter fraud, with Glycon being a simple hand puppet.
Also known as Nota Deorum, this magical book inspired H.P. Lovecraft and his work with the Necronomicon.
Effects[]
The Book has the power (when read from properly) to raise the dead, heal the sick, see the future, animate objects, talk to animals, etc. Using John Dee’s Golden Talisman when reading a certain passage (Qui quaerunt deum, et sanguinem dimitti debet Salomonis) aloud enables the reader to become a god.
Due to its immense potential for disaster, it has been on the Warehouse Most Wanted List until it was located in 1944; Dee's talisman is still at large.
