Origin[]
Akira Kurosawa was a Japanese film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor. Regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema, Kurosawa directed 30 films in a career spanning 57 years. Some of his most famous works include Drunken Angel, Rashomon, Seven Samurai and Ran. Many movies by later directors were partially inspired by his films, including The Magnificent Seven, A Fistful of Dollars and Star Wars.
Kurosawa was also known for his acute attention to detail, such as constructing and then destroying an accurate looking time period castle for Ran. He also had the main actor for Throne of Blood shot at with real arrows to realistically show, not fake the character's fear.
