Origin[]
This artifact's origins are unknown. It was collected from a retirement home after twelve residents and four aides mutilated themselves, and several more cases were reported around the area.
Effects[]
Always ringing, the effect starts softly at first and slowly builds to an unbearable volume. This effect is mostly hallucitory, and only people exposed to the phone can hear it ringing wherever they are. Once the phone is answered, the victim will be struck with deafness and an intense itching in their eardrum that can make them resort to self-mutilation.
For reasons unknown, affected people will find themselves attempting to use the phone to call for help from family members, resulting in the effects being sent through the phone to them as well. The phone has been proven to operate even without a connection.
Agents have reported that this artifact, when neared, rings on its own and a voice softly whipspers in their ears saying, "It's for you, Dearie."
Storage and Handling[]
Stored on a podium in the Dark Vault.
Neutralizer gloves are mandatory. Handle the phone carefully to prevent accidental activation. When removing from the neutralizer field, store the phone in a neutralizer box until it is ready to be returned.
