Heck, I've been shifting between focusing on my own projects and being bored but without energy, and I hadn't checked the wiki to see this thread before now. Sorry for the silence, everyone.
As I already told Per on the canon wiki, I'm very much for a Discord channel for us all to talk to (you can't avoid me forever, Draco!). Time to hop in!
...well I can't beat that.
Aff and I found out it was actually a stained glass skylight from their ballroom (Wikipedia got it right, but some sources say it was a chandelier for some reason), and we figured out a good and creepy effect for it.
If it's Samhain Sector-worthy, of course. The murder did take place early November, and I don't think the Bean Family had any direct connection to even Autumn in general (and the Ganges Water is only there for an in-universe reason).
I think I've forgotten said page and point - is it about Artifact Exclusion Zones?
I'll list my artifacts so as to further avoid accidental duplicates. Artifacts I'm for sure making are bold, artifacts I'm not sure about and need some more thinking aren't.
I have to ask though... wha's a "Cocoon crawler"?
EDIT: Also, with how many artifacts with fictitious/original origins I have, I want to try to balance that out with artifacts with real origins.
The show has always been sort of wishy-washy with that, especially in Season 5. I'd argue it's allowed irl for the sake of a story, and in-universe with low-risk artifacts and responsible handling.
I'm sure Affectos would love the Emergo Skeleton (whether he makes it or not). I already had a great idea for a skeleton artifact of my own, but I doubt the Samhain Sector only has one calcium cadaver. I also have an idea for a Walpurgisnacht artifact, and I'm surprised that wasn't already on your list.
Oh, a little Agent Log (which could be expanded into a full story somehow, if we want) idea: The gang turns the B&B into a haunted house for Univille for Halloween. Maybe they use a few minor artifacts to achieve spooky effects (Villon's Inkwell or the Lenape Cloak to stick body parts/walk through doors and walls, for example).
If it's a simple agent log, I like keeping it simple and maybe not having the artifacts cause a big ruckus or have the gang scrambling to keep the townies from learning the truth about artifacts - that, again, keeps it simple and fun.
Might it be a good idea to let us know in advance what artifacts you plan on making so we can avoid duplicates? Maybe save what their effects are for the official post though.
EDIT: OOH, I think I have a good one - I love silly, playful artifacts, and the origin just popped into my head. Can't wait to share!
My inspiration for artifacts has been somewhat low since I left high school, but I'll try to come up with as many of my own as I can. It'd be great if we could all collaborate to reach 30-31 like the original blog though.
I think they recently made a Broadway show like that, starring Alex Brightman...
1. Oooh, that would be so fun! I adored the original Halloween post! And I think that was the first thing connected to this wiki I ever commented on...
2. I'm sure I can come up with a few things, might finally use one of those Wiccan artifacts I added to the Samhain Sector
3. That's (the main page change) is a given, it's more a matter of "who's going to do it?". I feel like someone able to capture the spoopy, whimsical, and/or mysteriousness of Halloween in their style of writing should do it, because I'm not sure I could do it justice. Scalec did a pretty good job with those original Samhain artifact descriptions...
Plus, there's nothing stopping you from retconning a bit of his history to get rid of or modify what bothers you (as long as it doesn't change what we've established in a major way), Draco and I are gonna do that with the Scott Trilogy eventually.
I'll be the first to say I object, and would prefer we find a way to write him off in-universe - best of both worlds really. He's not "present", but he still existed and left his mark.
Ugh, it's so frustrating that we thought it was a good idea just to link to the golive listings without uploading or even downloading any of the pictures before whatever the hell happened to the site happened...
Draco, did you by any chance save a pic of Claudia's personalized contingencies, with the Lou Reed device and Bowie's costumes?
Oh yeah, my first transition artifact - thanks 123! I may need to update the infobox image now that you've reminded me, I think it's appeared in an episode prior to "For the Team".
I honestly don't know what artifacts of my own I'm proud enough of to want displayed on the main page...
I do nominate Draco's Pop-Down Book though, it's funny and iconic enough to warrant it, in my opinion.
Then again, that conversation-stopping robot, the "Family Guy" concept art, and a few others are just as worthy...
I'm not sure if you're able to do this, but it'd be awesome if we could make it so we can use references on this wiki. I tried it on a recent page, but it didn't work (even when I wrote "reflist" or "reflist(line)2" (with those special template parentheses) like the canon wiki; I tried looking on the list of templates page, but there's nothing for reflists there).
I think I like the black left, red right, personally. Still aligns with our general color scheme.
