That's pretty sweet! What's through the door the person is looking through? It looks like 2 orange-ish galaxy swirls.
When I asked her, she said she pictured the doorway as not being completely formed yet. Almost as if this hadn't always been here, but was something that had been slowly forming and was still growing. The orange-ish swirls in the doorway are actually part of a very short hallway that connects the room to the main Warehouse, and it acts as part of the formation process.
She pictured the room as being created by the Warehouse itself, and it was creating the space by itself. The doorway was the final stage of the room's completion, and when it was first discovered, it hadn't fully formed yet. She thought the design of the doorway would change over time based on the surrounding architecture (it would adjust the entrance to the room based on the style the Warehouse was built in to fit the theme), and the hallway was in the process of forming to match its surrounding architecture. Safe to go through, but incomplete. I thought it was an interesting take.
Is this picture meant to represent WH13, or 3, then? The figure looks like Artie, but 13 had the copper-orange-y electric lighting on the ceiling. If only this thing were scanned, I could make it out better.
As for the doorway and hallway, I won't ask how it relates to the doorway-changer thing that Mrs. F and one of the Regents used to reach the Eldunari from the Office, but I don't recall there ever being a hallway in 13's Eldunari, just a doorway that led down a flight of stairs into the room. Unless I'm imagining this wrong?
It's meant to represent Warehouse 3.
You're not imagining it wrong, per say. The hallway was really only there around the time of Warehouses 3 and 4. During the time of Warehouse 4 (my timeline, her idea), an (as-yet unexplained) event occurs which leads to the Regents deciding it needs to better protect the Eldunari. That lead to the creation of the door-change, with the help of an artifact. When they moved to Warehouse 5 (and the subsequent moves), the Warehouse felt the hallway wasn't necessary (since it was now a limited-access room that few people would visit), so it didn't form one.
Her idea makes me think that the access to the Eldunari can change between Warehouses to fit the overall style of the building. The spiral staircase (I think it was a spiral, at least) fits the style of Warehouse 13. It might change slightly with each Warehouse.
